Penrith Mountain Rescue Team's manpower and skills are available 24 hrs a day, 365 days per year by volunteers from all walks of life. There are currently 40 team members. To join the team it is anticipated that prospective members will have considerable experience in mountaineering and, usually, a recognised qualification in first aid. Penrith Mountain Rescue Team is available 24 hrs a day, 365 days per year by volunteers from all walks of life.
We are looking for people who are physically fit and have lives where they are likely to be available.
We are also looking for people with excellent Team and communication skills.
You will be contacted by one of the Leadership group and you will be able to explore further any issues before being invited to meet.
You will be given Initial Training (about 6 sessions at week ends) and then invited to join the Team on call outs, meetings and Team Training
Following a probationary period (normally one year), during which, extensive training is provided, successful candidates may become full Team Members on the recommendation of the Team Leadership and the approval of the Team..
Training for full members is on the first Sunday and third Wednesday evening of every month. Team meetings are the first Wednesday of every month.
